The weather is pleasant, warm and balmy with moderate rain throughout the year. There are also highland residential areas and resorts with permanent spring-like weather throughout the country.

Political Stability and Rule of Law

The ruling Government of Malaysia is the longest serving freely elected Government in the world and represents all groups of people found within the country. The country has long been one of the safest and most politically stable countries in the world by strictly practicing the British system of justice set out in its constitution. This rule of law has enabled the development of an open, democratic society with constitutional guarantees to practice all religions.

Most items normally bought by tourists, such as perfumes, cosmetics, watches, fountain pens and electronic goods are free of tax for visitors. Quality goods from all over the world are imported into Malaysia and are sold at highly competitive prices.

Shopping in Kuala Lumpur promises variety, value and convenience. There is a bewildering range of shopping establishments catering for every taste and budget, which includes modern air-conditioned shopping malls, department stores, handicraft centers, duty-free shops, bazaars and night-markets. Among the items high on the shopping list of tourists are pewter, batik, duty-free items, electrical products, prêt-a-porter attire, sportswear and handicrafts.

Locally, the best of every culture has blended together in unique combinations to make Malaysia into Asia's food paradise. The finest Eastern and Western cuisine are also available in the major cities. Malaysia is also a meeting place of both eastern and western cultures producing a most diverse culinary melting pot.

The country has a very efficient health system. Medical services from private doctors, clinics and hospitals of international standards are easily obtainable at very reasonable cost. Ease of communication is also guaranteed since English is widely used among medical professionals and staff.
